My career (so far)

Full resume in format

Since September 2017 I started my own company DB Tech Vision. More info will follow.

From May 2008 till beginning of 2017 I worked as a 'Technology advisor' with Microsoft. I supported the sales cycle in a technical way for the infrastructure portfolio (Windows 2012, 2008 / R2, system center suite and Azure cloud), security products (Forefront, TMG, UAG...) and the mobility products (like Identity, Intune, CASB, RMS ...). On a daily basis this meant that I responded to RFI/RFP, have solution/product presentations with clients and Microsoft partners and set up POCs.

Before working with Microsoft I worked as a senior technical consultant within the security division of Telindus. Telindus. Before working for Telindus I worked as senior security project manager for CertiPost. Besides project management I was also involved in training and technical consulting with regards to the Belgian electronic identity card. Certipost is a joint venture spin off from Belgacom and the Belgian Post Group. My mother company Belgacom transferred me to the newly founded Certipost. Within Belgacom I was working in the Corporate and Data Solution division as a System and Application Engineer. My responsibilities were automating and building a Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) system for E-Trust. The core PKI components comes from Betrusted UniCert. The core PKI component exists of a Certificate Authority (CA), a Registration Authority (RA), and the Advanced Registration Module (ARM).

Before I joined Belgacom I worked with Utimaco Safeware Belgium (USB). USB is a company that is specialized in designing and developing high security systems for the IT world. USB has solutions for digital signature (S/MIME), Virtual Private Networks (VPN), smartcards, cryptware accelerator boards, Firewalls, PKI's, ... My responsibilities with USB as a project leader were mainly major projects, although I was also responsible for the development of the Secure Socket Layer (SSL aka https://) module for the company.

My first job after graduation as a computer scientist was with American Management Systems (AMS, headquartered in FairFax VA; USA) as an IT consultant in the telecommunication industry. I was outsourced to Proximus the main mobile operator in Belgium. I was there responsible for the Accounts and Receivables maintenance of PNI, and after that I was responsible for the Real Time Rating.

Another job (or hobby) of mine was teaching JAVA courses at GroepT (from 2002 till 2008). It gave me the opportunity to have a closer feeling of what kind of difficulties beginning IT students experience.
